There a number of site-wide settings you can set to control how guests can find and access your wedding website.
Note: these settings take effect immediately when your website is already published.
Website URL
Your wedding website is accessible at https://cana.wedding/your-url-here. You can customize the URL slug — the part after the / — to something personal and memorable (e.g., sarah-and-james-2026).
Rules:
Between 3 and 50 characters
Lowercase letters and numbers only; hyphens allowed between words (e.g.,
jane-and-john)No spaces or special characters
The editor checks availability in real time as you type. Once you click Apply Website URL, the change goes live immediately.
QR codes: Your QR code always points to your current published website, regardless of the URL. If you only print the QR code on save-the-dates or invitations, you can safely change the URL later. If you printed the URL as text, we recommend keeping it the same.
Website Password
You can require guests to enter a password before viewing your wedding website. This is useful if you want to limit access to invited guests only.
When password protection is enabled, all personal information — except your first names — is hidden from visitors until they enter the correct password.
Rules:
Between 3 and 50 characters
Lowercase letters and numbers only; hyphens allowed (same format as the URL)
No spaces or special characters
Toggle the checkbox to enable or disable the password, enter your chosen password, then click Apply Website Password Changes. The change takes effect immediately.
To remove password protection, uncheck the box and save.
Search Engine Visibility
This toggle controls whether your wedding website appears in search engine results (Google, etc.) and in Cana's "Find Couple" search.
Enabled (recommended): Your website is publicly discoverable. Guests who forget your URL can search for you by name.
Disabled: Your website is unlisted. You'll need to share the direct link or QR code with guests yourself.
Note: Changes to this setting can take up to 30 days to fully propagate with search engines like Google.
If you have privacy concerns but still want search visibility, consider adding a website password instead. A password hides all personal details from the public while still allowing guests with the password to access the full site.
