How to Manage Plus-Ones on Your Guest List
In Cana, plus-ones are managed as additional guests inside a guest party. If you want to give someone a guest, you’ll add that plus-one to the same party as the main invitee, then decide which events that guest is invited to.
How to add a plus-one
Open your Guest List and select the guest party you want to update.
In the "Party tab", click Add Guest.
Enter the plus-one’s first and last name if you know it.
If you do not know the guest’s name yet, leave the added guest as a placeholder and turn on Name Unknown (guest will provide).
Click Save.
How to control which events the plus-one can attend
After adding the plus-one, open the Events & RSVPs tab for that same party. For each event:
Find the plus-one in the list.
Turn Invited? on or off depending on whether they should be included.
If needed, you can also manually update their RSVP status from the guest list.
This lets you invite a plus-one to some events, like the wedding, without inviting them to everything, like a rehearsal dinner or welcome party.
What happens when the guest RSVPs
When guests visit your RSVP form, they’ll respond for everyone in their party. If a plus-one was added with Name Unknown, they’ll see an Edit Name option and can enter that guest’s name before submitting the RSVP. Each invited guest in the party can respond separately for each event they’re invited to.
Tips for managing plus-ones
Use a named guest when you already know who the plus-one is.
Use Name Unknown if you want the invitee to provide the guest’s name later.
Make sure the plus-one is only marked as invited to the events you want them to attend.
If plans change, you can remove the extra guest from the party or update their event invitations at any time.
